What author is speaks louder to children than Dr. Seuss! I love reading and sharing Dr. Suess books! During Seuss week we will read Dr. Seuss books and bring some home to share with mom and dad.  We will also do lots of fun activities! But, shhh don't tell the kids they are learning too - they think they're just having fun!

 

 

 Seuss Plans 2008

Monday: "The Foot Book"  

·         Measuring our feet using keys, unifex cubes, paper clips, and foam letters!

·         Writing: What can you feet do?

Tuesday: "The Cat in the Hat"  

·         Writing: Write a silly story about a cat.

·         The cat in the Hat Character sheet - definfing and understanding the word character

·        Game Time: Roll and color the cats stripes game - game to play with a friend.

 

Wednesday: "One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish"  

·        Spelling: Cat in the Hat word search

·         Opposites: One Fish two Fish opposites - finding all the opposites in the story.

 

Thursday: "The Cat in the Hat Comes Back" 

·         Writing: What do you like to do on a rainy day

·         Craft: Making Seuss Critters 

·         Visual Discrimination: Cat in the Hat Maze 

 

Friday: "Green Eggs and Ham" 

·         Cooking: Making and eating green eggs and ham

·        Coloring:  I Love green eggs and ham picture holder
