Magnet Facts

 

1.Magnets are made from magnetite or lodestone.

2. Magnets attract things made from iron or steel.

3. Attract means to pull something to you.

4. Repel means to push something away from you.

5. A magnets force can pull through other objects.

6. Magnets have two poles - the north pole and the south pole.

7. On a bar magnet the poles are on the ends.

8. Opposites attract - the north pole and south pole are attracted to each other.

9. A magnetic force is the pulling force of an object.

10. A compass uses a magnet inside to tell direction.

11. A compass always points North.
