Social Studies Units » All About Me!

All About Me! All About Me!

I like to begin the school year with this theme.  It's a great way to get to know my students.

Activities:

1. Make a "Me" banner. Cut a sheet of construction paper into a banner shape. Add a current photo of the child taken at school.  Students fill in a premade "ME!" sheet containing information such as name, age, favorite color, favorite food, family pets, and etc... Both items are glued onto the banner. Banners are hung in the classroom for the remainder of the school year.  The banner will go home during the last week of school.

2. Letter to my child.  This is parent homework.  I read the paper to each child individually and privately. The I save the letter until the end of the year and put it in each child's memory book. File attached - See Related Files below.

3. See Kevin Henkes Books on the Literature Units page for more activities.
